A Website Linking Agreement sets out the terms and conditions required when two website owners engage in a reciprocal link exchange or a one-way link exchange. Linking from one website to another is an effective technique of building website traffic, awareness and page rank.
Elements that need to be addressed include the link type (textual or graphical), where the link is located and whether the receiving website shall or shall not pay a fee to the provider of the link. Many payment schemes exist, for example the link requester may be charged a flat fee or a fee based on total ad revenues generated on the link provider's website, and in other cases both website owners agree to exchange links on pages that have the same page rank.
